Missing beach rake

The Association Beach rake has gone missing. It was last seen on August 7th.  If anyone has borrowed it please return it ASAP.  A theft report will be filed with the Washington police if it does not return.

Found:  Blue Pungo  kayak (see picture).

Can be picked up at Craig and Susan's (by the seaplane).

Association Members,

The father of Bob Graham and member of the WLA family recently passed away this weekend. Malcolm “Scotty” Graham was a long time member of the WLA having joined with Ethel, his wife, in 1969 when they first built on Island Pond. Please join us in offering our condolences to Bob and his family.

Regatta and Potluck Cancelled.

After carefully considering all options the Regatta Organizers have decided to cancel the Regatta and Potluck this year but are looking forward to 2021.

Betty Reilly

We are saddened to report that Betty Reilly recently passed away.  Betty and her husband Jim were among the original owners here having bought their lake house when the community was first developed in the 1960’s.  Over the years Betty and Jim were a fixture here at the lake and assisted the association in numerous ways.  Our condolences to their children and grandchildren.

Time for the Orange

Now that St. Patrick's Day has come and gone it is time in New Hampshire for the wearin' of the Orange when walking in the woods and fields. 

New Hampshire's Spring turkey hunt will commence with the youth turkey hunt taking place on Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26. The regular turkey hunting season will then commence on May 1 and run through May 31

Please be careful out there.

Please Shelter in Place - known case of COVID-19 in Washington 

We are sorry to Inform our community that Washington had it’s first confirmed case of COVID-19 this weekend.

Due to the known exposure within our small community, the Selectmen strongly advise ALL residents to shelter in place and avoid all social gatherings. This does not restrict you from making trips outside of the home to fulfill essential needs such as groceries, prescriptions etc. 

If you need NON emergency help, food or other supplies, please call 495-3661, leave a message and someone will get back to you. For EMERGENCY HELP call 911!

Please know that the selectmen are as anxious as you to get beyond this crisis and back to normal!

The Hickory Tussock moth caterpillar appears to be back!

This caterpillar has again been spotted in the area.

What’s this green cotton candy stuff in the lake?

WLA Weed Watchers and others have reported seeing strange looking masses floating below water level. 

The NH Lakes organization has released a report about this algae which is attached below.

We encourage you to visit their website and support their efforts in protecting New Hampshire lakes.  

The WLA Weed Watchers are led Bob Graham and he can be reached by sending an e-mail to the Weed Watcher
